Elderly woman dies following incident at Hazelbrook

A woman has died and another has been injured following an incident at the Blue Mountains.

About 4.40pm on Saturday, emergency services were called to a property at Hazelbrook Parade, Hazelbrook, following reports a woman had been hit by a car.

Officers attached to Blue Mountain Police Area Command attended and found an 89-year-old woman trapped underneath a hatchback.

Emergency services attempted to free the woman; however, she died at the scene.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Police were told the hatchback had rolled down a driveway and hit a 53-year-old woman, before hitting the 89-year-old.

The 53-year-old woman was taken to Katoomba Hospital for treatment.

A crime scene was established, with inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident ongoing.
