With Lithgow Halloween 2026 set to bring Main Street alive on Saturday, October 31, Lithgow City Council is encouraging event organisers to consider the Seven Valleys for their next regional event.

Just beyond the Blue Mountains and within easy reach of Western Sydney, the Seven Valleys offers a natural westward extension for event producers looking beyond Penrith and the Mountains for distinctive regional locations. The region sits between the Blue Mountains, Bathurst, Mudgee and Oberon.

The upcoming Halloween Festival will run from 4pm to 9pm on October 31 in Lithgow’s Main Street. This follows another significant addition to the region’s events calendar this year, the inaugural Seven Valleys Wild Food Festival. The Wild Food Festival will return in February 2027 with an expanded program.

Mayor Cassandra Coleman said Council wanted to build on that momentum.

“The success of the inaugural Seven Valleys Wild Food Festival, together with Lithgow Halloween later this month, shows the benefits that events can bring to our community,” she said.

“We want event organisers to look at the Seven Valleys with fresh eyes. We have wonderful towns and villages, natural landscapes, cultural venues, and distinctive heritage places that could set the scene for all kinds of events.

“Events bring visitors into our region, support local businesses and create experiences for our community. We’re inviting producers and organisers to bring us their ideas and help build the next chapter of the Seven Valleys events calendar.”

To encourage new events, Council has extended applications for the Seven Valleys Major Event Sponsorship Program until November 1 2026.The 2026-27 program offers event sponsorship of up to $40,000, from the total pool of $40,000.

The program aims to attract events that generate visitor economy benefits, strengthen the region’s event calendar and promote the Seven Valleys as a distinctive destination.

Event producers, promoters, sporting organisations and creative organisations with an established event looking for a new location, or an idea for something new, are encouraged to explore the opportunity.

Applications close November 1.
