Mark your calendars, as a night of entertainment and fundraising has been locked in for later this month.
The Bush School is a not-for-profit project established by a Glenbrook family back in 2010, providing basic education and nutrition to children living near the famous Angkor temples in Siem Reap.
The school is also a project of Winmalee Lions Club, with member Doug Frewer, who co-founded the school with his late wife Christine, planning to visit the school later this year to meet and work with the teachers and students.
A variety concert to support the school will be held on Saturday, April 20 at St Finbar’s Church Hall.
The concert program will feature music and dance in the true spirit of variety, including performances from the local Ex Gratia Choir, some very talented young cellists, the popular ukulele group Blue Mugs, and an exotic Bollywood dancer.
As a special feature, the Blue Mountains Musical Society will be performing their favourite songs from their newest show ‘The Sound of Music’.
At the interval, an excellent supper will be available, followed by the drawing of some great raffle prizes, with all money raised going towards the operation of the Bush School.
The variety show will be on at St Finbar’s Church Hall on Saturday, April 20 at 7pm. Tickets are $35 per person, or $60 per family. For more information or to book, visit bushschoolcambodia.com or call Doug Frewer on 0403 303 943.
