Two people have somehow escaped without injuries after their car crashed onto the rail tracks at Blaxland this morning.
The car was travelling a long the Great Western Highway when it left the road, crashed through a perimeter fence and landed upside down on the tracks.
The driver and passenger emerged from the overturned vehicle without any injuries.
There are significant delays on the trains as a result of the crash, with no services running between Springwood and Penrith.
Buses have been called in as replacement services.
Work is now underway to remove the car from the tracks.
